Fakulti Pendidikan UPM

Fakulti Pengajian Pendidikan (FPP) ditubuhkan pada 15 Januari 1975. Pada awal penubuhannya, FPP dikenali sebagai Fakulti Perkhidmatan Pendidikan selaras dengan fungsi utama Fakulti pada ketika itu. Ia menawarkan kursus-kursus kepada pelajar yang mengikuti program pengajian Diploma Sains dengan Pendidikan dan Bacelor Sains dengan Pendidikan (Kepujian) yang menawarkan kursus-kursus elektif dan umum yang diambil oleh pelajar daripada pelbagai fakulti di Universiti Pertanian Malaysia ketika itu.

Mulai 1976, FPP mula menawarkan program pengajiannya sendiri bermula dengan program Bacelor Pendidikan (Sains Pertanian) dan Bacelor Pendidikan (Sains Rumah Tangga). Pada awal 1980an, FPP menambahkan lagi program pengajian yang meliputi Bacelor Pendidikan dalam bidang

Bimbingan dan Kaunseling, Pengajaran Bahasa Malaysia sebagai Bahasa Pertama, Pengajaran Bahasa Inggeris sebagai Bahasa Kedua, dan Pendidikan Jasmani.

Pada awal penubuhannya, FPP hanya mempunyai tiga (3) jabatan, iaitu Jabatan Pendidikan, Jabatan Sains Kemasyarakatan dan Jabatan Bahasa. Pada 1989, FPP mengalami perubahan struktur apabila dua daripada tiga jabatan tersebut, iaitu Jabatan Sains Kemasyarakatan dan Jabatan Bahasa membentuk fakulti baharu. Jabatan Sains Kemasyarakatan bergabung dengan Jabatan Pembangunan Manusia, Fakulti Pertanian untuk menjadi Fakulti Ekologi Manusia. Sementara Jabatan Bahasa bergabung dengan Jabatan Komunikasi, Pusat Pengembangan dan Pendidikan Lanjutan untuk menjadi Fakulti Bahasa Moden dan Komunikasi.

Pada 1996, berikutan dengan penyertaan Jabatan Pendidikan Pengembangan, FPP mempunyai dua jabatan iaitu Jabatan Pendidikan dan Jabatan Pendidikan Pengembangan. Pada 1997, Jabatan Pendidikan Pengembangan telah ditukar nama kepada Jabatan Pemajuan Profesional dan Pendidikan Lanjutan.

Pada 2002, FPP sekali lagi mengalami perubahan struktur. Enam jabatan baharu ditubuhkan sebagai rombakan semula Jabatan Pendidikan. Jabatan baharu yang ditubuhkan ialah Jabatan Asas Pendidikan, Jabatan Pendidikan Bahasa dan Kemanusiaan, Jabatan Pengajian Perlakuan dan Pergerakan Manusia dan Jabatan Pendidikan Sains dan Teknikal. Jabatan Pemajuan Profesional dan Pendidikan Lanjutan kekal seperti sedia ada. Pada 2004, perubahan struktur berlaku di mana Jabatan Pengajian Perlakuan dan Pergerakan Manusia telah dirombak menjadi dua jabatan iaitu Jabatan Pendidikan Kaunselor dan Psikologi Kaunseling dan Jabatan Pengajian Sukan.

Fakulti ini berperanan untuk melahirkan guru yang mengajar di sekolah menengah dan pegawai yang bertanggungjawab terhadap pembangunan sumber manusia. Kini FPP menawarkan Bacelor Pendidikan dalam biang Sains Pertanian, Sains Rumah Tangga, Pendidikan Jasmani, Pengajaran Bahasa Malaysia sebagai Bahasa Pertama, Pengajaran Bahasa Inggeris sebagai Bahasa Kedua, serta Bimbingan dan Kaunseling.

Selain Bacelor Pendidikan, FPP menawarkan Bacelor Sains (Pengurusan Sumber Manusia) yang bertujuan menghasilkan pegawai pembangunan sumber manusia untuk berkhidmat di agensi kerajaan, swasta dan badan bukan kerajaan. Fakulti juga menawarkan program Diploma Belia dalam Kerja Pembangunan untuk melahirkan pekerja belia. Program ini dimulakan pada tahun 1999 dan ia dikendalikan secara jarak jauh yang mengambil masa selama dua tahun. Program ini juga merupakan 'feeder' program untuk pengajian B.S. (PSM). Graduan program diploma ini mempunyai prospek kerjaya yang baik dalam organisasi dan komuniti seperti Pembantu Pegawai Belia dan Sukan, Pegawai Belia dan Sukan, Penolong Pegawai Kaunseling, Penolong Pegawai Pembangunan Komuniti dan Penolong Pegawai Kebajikan Masyarakat.

Fakulti Kejuruteraan Universiti Sains Malaysia

Kampus Kejuruteraan, Universiti Sains Malaysia terletak di Nibong Tebal, Seberang Perai, Pulau Pinang. Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi mengumumkan Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) sebagai universiti Apex. Datuk Khaled Nordin berkata, USM dipilih selepas ia memenuhi ciri-ciri kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang ditetapkan.

Walaupun kampus ini terletak di Pulau Pinang, namun ianya tetap istimewa, kerana kedudukan lokasinya yang terletak bersempadan dengan 3 buah negeri di kawasan utara iaitu Pulau Pinang, Perak dan Kedah. 3 buah pekan yang berhampiran dengan kampus ini ialah Nibong Tebal di Pulau Pinang, Parit Buntar di Perak dan Bandar Baharu di Kedah.

Sekiranya anda menggunakan lebuh raya dari selatan, plaza tol yang paling hampir untuk menyusur keluar ialah di Plaza Tol Bandar Baharu dan sekiranya anda dari utara, plaza tol yang paling hampir ialah Plaza Tol Jawi.

Memandangkan Bandar Parit Buntar adalah bandar yang paling hampir dan pesat membangun, maka tidak hairanlah ianya menjadi tumpuan utama staf dan pelajar Kejuruteraan USM untuk membeli-belah dan sebagainya.

Sejarah Universiti Malaya

Universiti Malaya, atau UM, universiti tertua di Malaysia, terletak di sebuah kampus yang berkeluasan 750 ekar (309 hektar) di selatan barat Kuala Lumpur, ibu negara Malaysia. Mula ditubuhkan pada April 1949 di Singapura berikutan penggabungan Kolej Perubatan King Edward VII (ditubuhkan pada 1905) dengan Kolej Raffles (ditubuhkan pada 1928).

Universiti Malaya mendapat namanya dari istilah 'Malaya' yang kemudiannya menjadi nama negara. Suruhanjaya Carr-Saunders, yang mengesyorkan penubuhan universiti ini, dalam laporannya pada 1948 mengatakan: "Universiti Malaya buat pertama kalinya akan menyediakan sebuah pusat umum di mana pelbagai kaum, agama dan ekonomi dapat bercampur gaul dalam usaha untuk menyatupadukan masyarakat. Bagi Universiti Malaya, inilah dia sebuah universiti untuk Malaya."

Pembangunan Universiti yang sangat pesat pada abad pertama penubuhannya menyebabkan pelaksanaan pembahagian dua Divisyen berautonomi pada 1959, satu terletak di Singapura dan satu lagi di Kuala Lumpur. Dalam tahun 1960, kerajaan bagi kedua-dua kawasan menyatakan keinginan untuk mengubah status Divisyen kepada universiti nasional. Permohonan ini diluluskan pada 1961 dan tertubuhlah Universiti Malaya pada 1 Januari 1962.

Pada 16 Jun 1962, Universiti Malaya meraikan perlantikan Canselornya yang pertama iaitu Yang Mulia Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, yang juga Perdana Menteri negara yang pertama. Naib Canselor UM yang pertama adalah Profesor Oppenheim, Ahli Matematik terkenal dunia.

Kini, Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Sultan Perak Darul Ridzuan Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Yussuf Izzuddin Shah Ghafarullahu-Lah merupakan Canselor Universiti Malaya.

YBhg. Profesor Datuk Dr. Ghauth Jasmon pula telah dilantik sebagai Naib Canselor Universiti Malaya yang kesepuluh pada 8 November 2008

Sejarah Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia ditubuhkan pada 18 Mei, 1970 dan beroperasi di Bangunan Institut Bahasa, Lembah Pantai. Susulan kepada penubuhan UKM, Unit Pengurusan Harta, Jabatan Bendahari ditubuhkan untuk melaksanakan tugas penyelenggaraan bagunan dan kawasan. Apabila UKM diberi tapak di Bangi untuk pembangunan kampus tetap pada tahun tersebut, Unit Pembangunan pula ditubuhkan dan dua orang pegawai pinjaman dari JKR iaitu seorang Arkitek, Encik Abdullah Bakri (Pengarah JPP yang pertama); dan seorang Jurutera Penguasa, Encik Edward Chia bertugas di Unit Pembangunan untuk membangunkan kampus tetap UKM Bangi. Unit Pengurusan Harta pula terus kekal dibawah Jabatan Bendahari. Pada akhir tahun 1984, barulah penggabungan dilaksanakan di mana Unit Pengurusan Harta digabung di bawah Unit Pembangunan yang diketuai oleh Pengarah Pembangunan ketika itu. 

Unit Pembangunan mula bertapak di pejabat yang bertempat di Bangunan Pentadbiran, Maktab Perguruan Bahasapada tahun 1970 di Jalan Pantai hingga tahun 1976 sebelum berpindah ke Bangi dan ditempatkan di aras 3, Bangunan Pentadbiran Canselori dan seterusnya ke aras 3 Bangunan Perpustakaan Tun Sri Lanang (PTSL). Pada tahun 1996,bangunan baru Unit Pembangunan melalui peruntukan pembangunan RMKe-6 siap dibina dan mula diduduki sehingga kini.

Mesyuarat Pengurusan Universiti, (MPU) pada 12 Disember 2001 telah bersetuju dan meluluskan penamaan semula gelaran jawatan dan jabatan di bahagian-bahagian dan unit-unit di UKM. Unit Pembangunan juga telah bertukar nama menjadiJabatan Pengurusan Pembangunan (JPP) dari 1 Januari 2002.

Pada 7 Julai 2011 pula Mesyuarat Lembaga Pengurusan Universiti (LPU) telah bersetuju dan meluluskan permohonan Penjenamaan dan Penstrukturan Semula JPP. Jabatan Pengurusan Pembangunan dengan rasminya kini dikenali dengan nama Jabatan Pembangunan Dan Penyelenggaraan. Penjenamaan semula ini amat sesuai kerana menggambarkan tanggungjawab dan liabiliti jabatan ini yang semakin mencabar.

Jabatan Pengurusan Pembangunan sehingga kini telah diterajui oleh tujuh orang Pegarah iaitu En. Abdullah Bakri, En. Edward Cheah, En. Soon Cheng Aik, En. Bahari Ali, En. Ibrahim Yaakub, Ir. Ishak Hj. Arshad dan terkini adalah Prof. Madya Ir. Dr. Abdul Khalim Abdul Rashid.

UMT Jadi Tuan Rumah Untuk Program Jelajah Merdeka Raya Rtm Di Terengganu

Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) baru-baru ini menjadi tuan rumah kepada Program Jelajah Merdeka Raya Radio Televisyen Malaysia peringkat Terengganu yang telah diadakan di perkarangan teflon Kolej Kediaman Sheikh Abdul Malek, UMT baru-baru ini. Majlis bersahur ini telah disertai oleh 30 orang pelajar UMT, 20 orang pelajar Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (Unisza) dan 20 orang pelajar Universiti Teknologi Mara (Uitm) cawangan Chendering. Majlis julung-julung kali ini dihadiri oleh krew rakaman daripada RTM Terengganu, juruhebah Terengganufm dan Nasionalfm serta bilik berita RTM Terengganu.

UMT diwakili oleh Timbalan Pengarah Pusat Kokurikulum UMT, Tuan Haji Awang Koding berkata bahawa program sebegini memberi ruang kepada pelajar yang tinggal di kolej kediaman untuk bersama-sama merapatkan lagi jalinan mesra antara institusi pengajian tinggi awam yang terlibat. Seharusnya program sebegini perlu dibuat sebagai acara tahunan bagi memastikan kesinambungan tersebut tidak terputus di tengah jalan.

RTM yang diwakili oleh Pengarah Penyiaran Terengganu, Puan Azizah binti Mohd Yusoff menyambut baik cadangan tersebut dan mengucapkan setinggi tahniah kepada UMT, Unisza dan Uitm kerana sudi bersahur bersama.

Majlis diserikan lagi dengan sesi perkenalan bersama-sama dengan juruhebah Terengganufm dan Nasionalfm. Majlis diakhiri dengan sembahyang subuh berjemaah yang diimamkan oleh Ustaz Ahmad Mustafa bin Mohamad daripada Pusat Islam, UMT.Program Jelajah Merdeka Raya ini akan bersiaran di saluran TV1 sepanjang bulan Ogos ini. Sekalung ucapan tahniah dan terima kasih di atas kerjasama program ini kepada Pejabat Hal Ehwal Pelajar dan Alumni, Pusat Kesihatan UMT, Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar, Pejabat Pembangunan dan Harta serta pelbagai pihak yang terlibat secara langsung atau tidak langsung di dalam menjayakan program ini.

KUITHO

Kolej Universiti Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn (KUiTTHO)  was known as Polytechnic Staff Training Center (PLSP) in 1993. As the country's 15th public university, KUiTTHO represents a changing nation with a mission to produce and train creative and innovative technologists as well as competent and responsible professionals who are able to apply, explore and lead new technologies  for the benefit of mankind KUiTTHO is well known for her Engineering Course and a library operate sibce October 1993. The present KUiTTHO library consisting of space of 1119 square meter can accommodate 250 users.  The library has 40,399 titles on monograph materials, 186 titles on magazines and 1808 titles on audio visual materials. Pusat Latihan Staf Politeknik (PLSP - Polytechnic Staff Training Centre) The training centre was set up in 1993 to train engineering lecturers for the Polytechnics under the sixth Malaysian Plan. Its establishment was officiated by the then Minister of Education on September 16, 1993. It was jointly managed by the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and the Ministry of Education under a memorandum of understanding signed on July 28, 1993. PLSP contributed significantly towards technical human resource development for this country and  led to an official announcement of a new status and name, i.e. the Institut Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn (ITTHO) on April 12, 1996. Institut Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn (ITTHO) - ITTHO's contributions toward the development of scientific and technological civilisation in realising Malaysia's role as a global player are well recognised. Thus, on September 27, 2000, the Cabinet, under Section 20 of the University and University Colleges Act 1971, has agreed to upgrade the status of ITTHO to a full pledged university to be known as Kolej Universiti Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn (KUiTTHO). The historical announcement was made by the then Minister of Education, Tan Sri Dato' Seri Musa bin Mohammad on September 30, 2000.

Universiti Sains Malaysia

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) is one of the three research-intensive universities in Malaysia. USM’s mission and vision is to be a world-class university embarking on world class research programmes via strategic planning and implementation of its R&D mechanisms. Since its inception in 1969, USM has gained a reputation for providing excellent postgraduate programmes and is fast gaining international recognition, which is evident from the numerous international awards and prizes garnered by its researchers.

USM has three campuses; the Main Campus is located on the island of Penang while the Engineering Campus is located on the mainland side of the state of Penang. The third campus, which houses three health related programmes (Medicine, Health and Dentistry) is in the State of Kelantan--on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia

The university’s main campus in Bangi, Selangor Darul Ehsan spans an area of 1,096.29 hectares approximately 35 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur. UKM Medical Centre (UKMMC), which is located in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur cover an area of 22.3 hectares, is to meet the needs of medical services education as well as medical research. UKMMC consists of a hospital, the Faculty of Medicine and the Institute of Medical Molecular Research (UMBI).

In its 39 years of existence, UKM has produced a total of 131,259 graduates consisting of 113,975 first degree holders, 15,895 masters graduates and 1,389 PhDs. This is from more than 103 undergraduate and 170 postgraduate programmes offered. There is also an increasing number of foreign students studying at the university lending credence to international acceptance of its various fields of study and research. Currently a total of 2,415 international students from 55 countries are enrolled at the university.

Based on its record of excellence in multi-discipline researches in the past three decades, UKM has been chosen as one of the four research universities in Malaysia in 2006. That recognition has gained further ground when the Malaysia Genome Institute (MGI) and the International Institute of Global Health, United Nations University were set up at the university. Universiti Teknologi Mara

- Minimum TOEFL score of 550 or
- Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or
- Minimum ELTS score of Band 6 or
- Minimum MUET score of Band 4.
Native English speakers and holder of degree with English as medium of instruction may be exempted from the above requirement.
